Chiricahua National Monument, AZ
Willcox, AZ, is just off I-40 in the south east corner of Arizona. From Willcox go south on Hwy 186 about thirty two miles. Watch for the sign telling you to turn east. The entrance is only about four miles. This is a must see! It is also one of the cleanest national parks I have ever seen, and it is staffed by very knowledgeable, polite rangers. They have the cleanest rest rooms I have ever seen in any park. The rock formations, and other scenery are majestic beyond description. This is a "wilderness" area so you will need hiking boots, although I did see women on the trails in sandals. How and why I cannot imagine. There are miles and miles of hiking trails. I suspect it would take at least of week to walk the entire park. Cochise is reported to have lived after he left the Fort Bowie area about fifteen miles north. I don't think they ever found him, but without air craft I can see why it would be next to impossible to find anyone.
